READ Saskatoon PGI Golf Tournament for Literacy began in 2007, thanks to the enthusiasm and guidance of Carm Michalenko, and the support of many others committed to literacy in Saskatoon. This year marks our 10th Anniversary! The READ Saskatoon PGI Golf Tournament for Literacy is always fun and welcoming to all kinds of golfers. It is an 18-hole Texas Scramble with a Shot-gun start.

A prominent person of good humour and creativity is invited annually to be the Poet Laureate. This person circulates during the day, meeting golfers, making fun, and composing a poem or a song to be performed at the event’s dinner.

Significant people are recognized with awards at the dinner. There is an Adult Learner Achievement Award, the Gzowksi Award for a golfer who strongly supports literacy, and the Community Builder Award.

Mark your calendars for Monday, August 29, 2017. Be aware that we tend to sell out by June of each year.

The READ Saskatoon PGI Golf Tournament for Literacy is one of two major fund-raising events for READ, held each year. The other is Lit Up!, held in early spring.
